About
Art Hobby Website
The Art Hobby Website provides art and hobby information, art and hobby tutorials, related articles, featured artists and crafts people, with a planned growing library of craft ideas and resources for various hobbies.
The main topic areas currently covered :
Due to my interests in art, hobbies and all things craft related, I began connecting with other people with similar interests, out of which grew my arts and crafts network forum, which is free to join if you are into arts and crafts or looking to join a community of like minded people, or even learn a new hobbies – or perhaps teach.
I’ve been avidly drawing since childhood and have ‘had a go’ at most crafts over the years, and still do give new to me crafts a try. Although mainly self taught I attended our local Chester college where I studied the Art Foundation course, which was where I became hooked by ceramics, especially paperclay (a mixture of paper fibre and earth clays). I’d take the Art Foundation course every year if I could, because I fell in love with all the core arts elements covered.
I was as happy etching and printing as I was when Life Drawing. However, as we had to choose a subject, I decided to specialize in ceramics and I especially enjoy experimenting with that quirky medium paperclay.
Abstract Art

Painting abstract art allows me the freedom to explore a scene, idea or thought without having to represent the actual view, idea or thought in complete detail, allowing the painting to develop without prescription or restriction. Abstract Art Gallery

Original Art

My original figurative, still life and other abstract paintings in acrylic, pastel and engraving prints are currently on display in Chester, UK. The originals are available for purchase locally as are limited edition prints of these. (these are not currently available for purchase elsewhere)
We are updating our art hobby website as not very much has changed for quite some time, leaving the old version of the website design looking rather jaded and it was not very useful for you, the user.
The new logo design is simple, yet fits neatly alongside our arts and crafts creative network website.
We will be re-adding our free ebooks and reports here on art hobby in due course. So please do revisit for updates.
