Artist, Edward McNaught-Davis.
Painting the Welsh Landscape must surely be easier when you live amid the beauty of the Welsh hills!
Nestled in the Welsh Landscape, Artist, Edward McNaught-Davis, is creatively inspired throughout the seasons. Imagine waking to those wonderful views every morning. Edward transfers many of those beautifully captured moments, throughout the year, onto canvas.
Dedicated to honing his art techniques, old and new, expanding and applying his talents to his original paintings, from which he reproduces his very popular fine art prints, you’ll see that the Welsh Landscape certainly does feature in his Farming Paintings Wales series, and other Welsh art works on his website.
Taking His Painting to New Heights!
Edward may be nestled into the Welsh landscape, however, that doesn’t keep him from taking to the skies to gather new perspectives.
Edward says: “This aerial view of Carew Castle in Pembrokeshire, Wales, was achieved by flying over it in a light aircraft. Fortunately, I was not the pilot!”
Lucky thing being able to do a fly-over in the name of art!

I am trying to find information on another Welsh landscape artist, who passed away a couple of years ago. His name is Gwilym Hughes. I know there is another modern artist who shares his name, but it is the late GH that I want to know more about. If anyone has any info on his paintings? I would love to know!
Hi Craig, Oohh you’ve set us a challenge! We’ll ask around our artist friends about the late Gwilym Hughes, unfortunately we have no personal knowledge of him. We’ll let you know what we find, if anything. thanks for commenting here. Di
Hi.
Thats great thanks very much for that.
I’m his grandson and I’m researching more about his work.
He worked in oil and canvas, in the Almwch area of Anglesey.
He has covered landscape & Seascape also.
I’m trying to locate more information and find some images of his pictures.
Hi.
Any news received yet about Gwilym?
thanks
Craig
Hi Craig, Nope, absolutely nothing I’m afraid.
A Welsh painter friend did respond and although he doesn’t know of your granddad he suggested you contact other artists and art groups in the Almwch area. Someone with local knowledge may be able to help you out further. Sorry we couldn’t help. We’ll keep asking around though.
If you do find anything please come back and let us know.

Hi.
I will soon be uploading a web site with data and pictures that Gwilym had painted.
So far, I have located around 30 paintings from Malvern (his home town) and the Almwch area.
I will let you know when it goes live…..
Thanks

Hi Diane.
Just to keep you up to date, I now have around 65 of Gwilym Hughes paintings.
Also managed to obtain 2 paintings myself from people that live in the Malvern Hills area (bargin).
Just started some oil painting myself, I think I have a long way to go before I reach his standards…..
